Correction: Free tree opportunity at Highland's 2024 Arbor Day Event

Correction: A previous version of this newsletter was sent out with the incorrect day of the week for the Highland Arbor Day Event attached. Thank you to a watchful reader for catching this error – it's been corrected below.

Dear neighbors:

Next Friday, April 26, Highland will hold its annual Arbor Day Event beginning at 9:30 a.m. CT on the grounds of the Lincoln Community Center, 2450 Lincoln Street in Highland. This event will improve upon the great tree canopy Highland already has, having received Tree City USA recognition by the Arbor Day Foundation for five consecutive years.

To further this goal, I will be handing out free tree saplings from the Department of Natural Resources’ nursery. Please stop by for one free tree per household. All District 12 residents are welcome to stop by for a free tree, not just Highland residents. As a reminder, District 12 includes Munster, Highland, Griffith, and portions of Schererville.
